“Over his decades in the biz, Don Pyle has both shaped Toronto music history and chronicled it: he played drums in the celebrated instrumental rock group Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, and these days is behind the kit with indie rock combo Long Branch.

Meanwhile, he also documented the history of Toronto music through his 2011 photo book Trouble in the Camera Club, followed by the portrait collection Shot in a Mirror  in 2022.

His latest book is Rough Description: Love Letters and Ghost Stories from a Life in Music, released this spring through ECW Press, a punk memoir detailing his life and dealings with Dallas Good, Steve Albini, the Kids in the Hall and much more.
